The prologue to the 39th edition of Time in Jazz concludes today in Berchidda with “Miniatures” by Mario Ganau, Paolo Fresu’s podcast dedicated to Miles Davis, Antonello Salis solo, and “Lùmia” by Ilaria Porceddu and Emanuele Contis.
The first of the events taking place in the spaces of Sa colte 'e su oltiju, the garden of Sa Casara, home of Time in Jazz, is scheduled for noon and is titled "Miniatures." In the soundscape created by Insulae Lab, Time in Jazz's music production center, pianist, composer, and producer Mario Ganau moves between acoustic piano, electronics, and sound design, balancing improvisation and writing, minimalism, ambient music, and contemporary electroacoustic aesthetics.
At 7 pm, the space dedicated to meetings will feature host Paolo Fresu, creator and artistic director of Time in Jazz, who will present "Qualcosa di Miles," the Rai Radio 3 podcast dedicated to Miles Davis, written with Antonia Tessitore and Daria Corrias, who will be present at the event . Not a simple biography of the great American trumpeter, but a personal story that intertwines Davis's artistic career with Fresu's personal and musical journey, a particularly significant tribute in the centennial year of the birth of the musician who, more than any other, revolutionized the language of twentieth-century jazz.
Live music at 9 pm: Antonello Salis will take the stage, receiving the Lifetime Achievement Award for his solo performance, alternating between piano and accordion. Closing the first part of Time in Jazz's concert series at 10:30 pm will be singer-songwriter Ilaria Porceddu and saxophonist, composer, and producer Emanuele Contis, who, accompanied by Nicola Vacca on drums and guitar, will perform "Lùmia," from the album of the same name.
Finally, DJ Cris will perform a DJ set to greet everyone and invite the audience to the second part of the festival, scheduled for August 8th to 16th in Berchidda and the other fifteen towns in northern Sardinia.
