After the June preview, Time in Jazz returns in its August version with a rich calendar of events that will kick off tomorrow with the Bandakadabra musical crossing from Livorno to Golfo Aranci in the early morning, the Amii Stewart concert in Puntaldia at 6 pm and the Andrea Motis Guitar Trio in Porto Rotondo at 9:30 pm.
Sunday is the regular date at L'Agnata in Tempio Pausania: this year, Diodato will be the star of the concert dedicated to Fabrizio De André, which has been sold out for months. From Monday until August 16th, a packed week will feature performances by major Italian and international musicians, including the main stage in Piazza Del Popolo in Berchidda and fifteen other venues in northern Sardinia, DJ sets, the Festivalbar, and the collateral events of the Time After Time, Time to Children, and Time to Read projects, exhibitions, and much more.
The 39th edition of the festival, conceived and directed by Paolo Fresu and dedicated to Miles Davis on the centenary of his birth and titled “Kind of Blue”—after the historic 1959 album by the great African-American trumpeter—also features Nils Petter Molvær, Nicholas Payton, Fabrizio Bosso, Theon Cross, Flavio Boltro, Kokoroko, Apparat, Matilde Gori, Bugge Wesseltoft, Giovanni Falzone, Dado Moroni, Attilio Zanchi, and Raffalele Casarano.
Don't miss the Berchidda lunch on August 15th and the performance by Fresu and Daniele Di Bonaventura on August 16th at the Peschiera di San Teodoro. The icing on the cake is the presentation of the "Miles Ahead" award to rapper Sayf on the evening of August 13th in Berchidda.
