There are three world gold medals won by Chiarar Statzu, the Paralympic athlete from Marrubiu who swept the DSWorld 2022 in his specialties: the 800 and 400 flat meters, also achieving the national record in the latter measure (1: 32.58).

But she also found herself a thoroughbred sprinter in the 200 meters.

Returning from the trip to Nymburk and Mladá Boleslav (Czech Republic), at Elmas airport there were not only the family members but also the mayor of Marrubiu Luca Corrias and the president of his home club Luciano Lisci. "The weather was not the best - said the middle distance runner - because it rained a few days and in one circumstance we were unable to train. The races were scheduled for Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday, luckily it was sunny and it was fine". Then the exploits on the track: "All three went well. In the 800s I was almost there but for a few cents I couldn't improve the time; however, the surprise pearl showed up the next day with the Italian record in the 400 which I honestly did not expect. Finally, that in the 200, according to my point of view, was a good performance ".

The coach Katia Pilia is ready to prepare her for other battles: "Surely - she explained - she had the right propulsion in her legs to smash the 800 record, but she didn't succeed. But she surprised us even more by making it in the 400, race which in any case we have prepared down to the smallest detail. By participating in the 200 he has increased the range of opportunities for the near future on the track ".
