Three thousand euros for a diploma without attending school: students targeted by the Finance Police
The Guardia di Finanza (Italian Finance Police) investigates a Campania school, involving Sardinians.Three thousand euros for a high school diploma. Students formally enrolled but never attended classes. Suddenly, three young people from Tortolì, Tertenia, and Baunei earned the electronics engineering degree that would have given them an advantage in the competitive exam rankings.
The investigations focused on the scholastic activities carried out between 2023 and 2025 by a study center in Caserta , specialized in recovering school years and preparing for the final exam.
According to investigations conducted by the Economic and Financial Police Unit of the Guardia di Finanza of Caserta and coordinated by the Public Prosecutor's Office of Santa Maria Capua Vetere, the institute was at the centre of a group that, with the assistance of private institutes, actual diploma mills , ensured that students (upon payment of sums of money) would pass the state exam.
