Thousands attended the Nomadi concert last night in Sestu , the highlight of the San Gemiliano festival. A packed square, "Campioni d'Italia '69-'70," with fans from all over Sardinia, welcomed Beppe Carletti and the members of the historic band . The memory of Augusto Daolio, the group's unforgettable voice, was poignant.

Sestu responded in style to the call of one of the most beloved and enduring groups in Italian music, thirty years after the concert in Piazza della Musica, which—also that time—was filled by thousands of enthusiastic spectators.

And once again, the Nomadi didn't disappoint, with songs that have become part of Italian pop culture: from "Noi non ci saranno" to "Aironi Neri," including the timeless "Io Vagabondo," as well as songs written by Francesco Guccini ("Auschwitz," "Dio è morto"), with whom they penned records that have been memorized by entire generations. The San Gemiliano Celebrations Committee, which organized the event, was excellently organized. The show ran smoothly until the finale, which was ruined by a heavy thunderstorm arriving around midnight.
