There is a Sardinian among the mermaids of Atrani: she is twenty-one year old Beatrice Bonifai
From Villamassargia, she was selected for the show on the Amalfi coast“Sirenes, the daughters of the dragon” . It is the show that is being staged this evening in the sea and in the caves of Atrani on the Amalfi coast. It is the first in Italy between mermaiding (a sport that consists of wearing a monofin and swimming with a mermaid tail) and synchronized swimming in the sea, created and directed by Alessandro D'Auria.
The special guest of the event is Hannah Mermaid , aka Hannah Fraser, 49-year-old Australian model, actress, dancer and performer specialized in underwater and ocean freediving shows, "the first professional freelance mermaid in the world" , protagonist of the documentary "Merpeople" available on Netflix and ocean ecology activist.
And there is a nice pinch of Sardinia in the show, given that among the twenty mermaids selected from all over the world there is one who comes from the island, the 21-year-old from Villamassargia Beatrice Bonifai .
Since she was little, Beatrice has had a passion for the sea and the environment. From a very young age she trained alone in the open sea and for this reason she also took two courses, one in Golfo Aranci (right in the waters where "The Little Mermaid" was filmed) and one in Marina Piccola.
