A reflection on the drama of the human condition and the cathartic power of theater: after the award-winning "Macbettu" Alessandro Serra proposes a new work: " Tragùdia / Il canto di Edipo" . The show is freely inspired by the works of Sophocles and the stories of the myth. Regional premiere on Monday at 8:30 pm at the Teatro Comunale in Sassari and from Wednesday 22nd to Sunday 26th January the play will be at the Teatro Massimo in Cagliari under the banner of the Season of La Grande Prosa 2024-2025 organized by CeDAC Sardegna.
On stage Alessandro Burzotta, Salvatore Drago, Francesca Gabucci, Sara Giannelli, Jared McNeill, Chiara Michelini and Felice Montervino. The translation into Greek is by Salvino Nucera , voices and songs by Bruno De Franceschi. Alessandro Serra, who takes care of the direction, scenes, lights, sounds and costumes, explains: «Let's start again from Artaud: Creating myths, this is the true object of the theater. The ritual of the theater rekindles the myth, inflames the archetypes, releases energy. Tragedy is myth that becomes theater: there are no feelings but the archetypes of feelings. The form of the feeling that is pure feeling...».
The production is by Sardegna Teatro / TRIC, Teatro Bellini, Emilia Romagna Teatro ERT / Teatro Nazionale and Fondazione Teatro Due Parma, in collaboration with Compagnia Teatropersona and I Teatri di Reggio Emilia.
