Siddùra has established itself among the most committed Italian wineries in terms of sustainability and environmental protection. Among the six companies nationwide awarded the Ecofriendly 2026 recognition by the Vinibuoni d'Italia guide, the Gallura winery stands out as the only Sardinian company.
The others are Tenuta Roveglia (Lombardy), Villa Sandi (Veneto), ColleMassari (Tuscany), San Salvatore 19.88 (Campania), and Cantine Paolo Leo (Puglia). The award was presented on November 8th at the Teatro Puccini in Merano, during the national preview of Vinibuoni d'Italia 2026 during the 34th edition of the Merano WineFestival.
"Being among only six wineries in Italy to receive the 2026 Ecofriendly Award from Vini Buoni d'Italia is a recognition that makes us proud, because it confirms a choice we made from the very beginning: sustainability for us is not a goal, but a founding principle, a daily method," emphasizes Mattia Piludu, general manager of Siddùra. "We invested in the heart of Gallura because here, nature is not just a backdrop, but a protagonist. It is a complex territory, with unique soil characteristics, where granite, climate, and wind shape the character of our wines. Our responsibility is to protect it."
The Vinibuoni d'Italia guide, among the most authoritative in the sector, has for years promoted and highlighted wineries that are committed to projects that embody green values. Over the years, these wineries have grown, and in this edition, Vinibuoni d'Italia has highlighted them with a dedicated icon: that of a bottle from which a leaf emerges, a symbol of life and hope for a greener future.
Siddùra has thus entered the ranks of absolute excellence in terms of environmental protection and respect, winning the Ecofriendly 2026 award from among 1,042 nominated companies. "For Siddùra, sustainability means listening to the vineyard. Our plants are stronger and more resilient today precisely because over the years we have adopted a forward-thinking cultivation approach, capable of adapting to climate change rather than being subjected to it," explains the Siddùra manager.
"We work within an integrated system, far removed from conventional techniques and adhering to rigorous specifications: safeguarding water resources and promoting traditional best practices. Technologies such as smart irrigation and monitoring stations, from weather to insect control, allow us to prevent and intervene as little as possible, allowing nature to take its course," continues Piludu. "This vision also extends to life in the cellar. We produce wines with the most natural profile possible, with sulfites levels well below legal limits. We have introduced only recycled glass and made our bottles lighter, a concrete step in terms of sustainability that translates into significant CO2 savings of 32,500 kg overall. And thanks to the photovoltaic system," concludes Siddùra's general manager, "we feed clean energy into the local grid, also generating value for the community. Today we know we're on the right path."
