Vermentino Aragosta di Alghero on the Wall Street Journal as one of the best wines of the summer . A new important recognition for the Santa Maria La Palma winery and for the wine sector of Alghero and Sardinia. The authoritative US newspaper has in fact included Vermentino di Sardegna Aragosta in a special classification of the 12 most interesting wines produced on an island and suggested for the hot season . The author of the article is the food and wine journalist Lettie Teague, Wine Columnist for the Wall Street Journal for 13 years.

The article entitled "Grape Escapes: 12 Terrific Island Wines" - where Terrific can be translated as extraordinary, exceptional - lists and describes 12 wine labels from as many islands in the world: from the Canary Islands to Tasmania, from Santorini to Sicily and Madeira, up to Sardinia, now recognized as a land capable of hosting the production of excellent wines .

The author imagines an "escape among the most interesting wines produced on these islands" and suggests a small selection, indicating the ideal labels for a "transportive summer drinking" , a particularly summery tasting. For Sardinia, the selected label is Vermentino di Sardegna DOC "Aragosta", one of the most characteristic labels of the Santa Maria La Palma winery , a true symbol of Sardinian and Alghero food and wine. The description of the wine provided by Teague underlines how the Vermentino grape is present in various areas of Italy but has a favorite home in particular in Sardinia and highlights its fresh and delicate flavour, with notes of citrus, perfect for accompanying dishes of fish and summer evenings by the pool. This wine represents one of the pillars of the Santa Maria La Palma winery.
