The 2022 Ubu Prize arrives in Cagliari Licia Lanera, founder and director of the homonymous theater company and among the most talented directors under 50, as part of the seventh edition of the “Marina Nonviolenta” festival, a theater review organized by Theandric Teatro Nonviolento with the artistic direction of Maria Virginia Siriu.

“Con la carabina” is the title of the show on stage this evening, Friday 14 March, at 9 pm at the Teatro Sant'Eulalia co-produced by Polis Teatro Festival in collaboration with Angelo Mai and E Production.

Winner of 2 UBU awards in 2022 for best direction by Licia Lanera and best foreign text by Pauline Peyrade, the play is interpreted by Danilo Giuva and Ermelinda Nasuto: the two actors will move in a claustrophobic and constantly changing space, there will be no winners in this infernal wheel, but only the mirror of a society that has failed spectacularly.

“With the rifle” is a lucid and impartial text, which flees from the idea of categorically dividing the world into good and bad, but analyses the cultural and anthropological mechanisms that give rise to certain violent behaviours.

Licia Lanera directs the two protagonists by delving into the path of violence through the evocative power of the word.

Through the theatrical game the spectator will be accompanied to the underworld, where every concept of right and wrong disappears.

Licia Lanera, born in 1982, is a director, actress but above all a leading comedian.

She studied at the University Theatre Centre of the University of Bari and later trained with Carlo Formigoni, the Ricci/Forte Company, Massimo Verdastro, Marco Sgrosso, Eimuntas Nekrosius.

In 2006 he co-founded the Compagnia Fibre Parallele, which later became the Compagnia Licia Lanera in 2018, and which in 19 years of activity has established itself in the theatrical panorama, achieving success with critics and the public.

Fundamental to her educational path was her meeting with Luca Ronconi, who in 2012 supported the staging of a study from “Questo sera si recita a soggetto” at the Venice Theatre Biennale and subsequently invited her to the Centro Teatrale di Santa Cristina and subsequently to the Piccolo Teatro.

In 2014 he flew to the Avignon Festival in France on behalf of the Ministry of Culture where he met with directors from all over Europe for a program of masterclasses with the most eminent international theatre personalities.

In the same year she received numerous critics' awards as an actress, in particular the Ubu Award for best actress under 35 for her performance in Luca Ronconi's “Celestina”, the Virginia Reiter Award and the one named after the very famous Eleonora Duse.

For over 10 years she has conducted training workshops for young actors, in particular she curates the Agli Antipodi project in Bari, and has been a teacher at the Schools for Actors of the Stabile Theatre in Turin, at the Teatro Cassiopea in Rome and curator of the course “Le Parole del Corpo” at the Fondazione Emilia Romagna Teatro.
