The standing ovation at the Sassari Municipal Stadium marked the closing of the "Festival of the Royal Cities" , organised by the Ente de Carolis , which also enjoyed success in the stages of Alghero and Castelsaro.
Tenor Francesco Demuro enchanted the audience by performing famous pieces from the melodic tradition such as "Core 'ngrato" , "O surdato 'nnammurato" , and "Granada" , before reaching the heights of the great operatic repertoire with the celebrated arias "E lucevan le stelle" and "Nessun dorma" . The performances of various guests were also highly appreciated, including the Tenors of Oniferi and Dante Tangianu on the launeddas, and the conducting of Ambra Pintore .
Among the most applauded moments was the one involving Demuro and the baritone Alberto Gazale , artistic director of the de Carolis: their interpretation of the refined duet Au fond du temple saint , taken from Bizet's Les pêcheurs de perles , thrilled the audience, supported by the excellent de Carolis Orchestra conducted by Alessandro Palumbo.
