The Abbabula Festival was needed to remember the "queen of Trastevere" Gabriella Ferri, 20 years after her death. If we exclude Syria's short tribute tour, the Italy of song seems to have forgotten the people's diva who did not limit herself only to Roman song but also made incursions into Neapolitan music and also garnered great acclaim in South America. Last night on the terrace of the Tavolara pavilion in Sassari he entertained and enchanted "Fior de limone", a tribute proposed by the singer Silvia Pilia (to sing Gabriella Ferri requires not only voice but also personality) accompanied by the voice of Federico Marras Perantoni, from the fabrics of notes of the guitarist Carlo Doneddu and the rhythms of the drummer Andrea Lubino.
The show, born three years ago, has grown over time. Opening with “Stornello dell'estate” set to music by Ennio Morricone, Eulalia Torricelli (from Forlì), the winking La pansè, relaunched by Carosone, and the Waltz della Toppa, with lyrics by Pasolini and music by Umiliani. And again the Canto di malavita, with the addition of a verse in Sassari written by Marras Perantoni, and Sinnò me moro and Semper, which was also the theme song for the very successful television program “Dove sta Zazà”, perhaps Gabriella Ferri's most famous song which was performed in the encore, where the quartet transformed into a quintet with the addition of another beautiful voice from Sassari, that of Angela Colombino, who participated in the project in its initial path.
Abbabula, the next events - On Monday at Lo Quarter in Alghero, concert by the singer-songwriter Diodato, on Tuesday we return to the Tavolara pavilion in Sassari for the premiere of "Il rito delle pinturas a bolu", an audiovisual performance on the fauna of Sardinia with Davide Toffolo (Tre happy dead boys) and Francesco Medda “Arrogalla”.
From 31 July the 26th Abbabula Festival will be definitively stationed in Alghero starting from the Elio e Le Storie Tese concert, followed by Daniela Pes (1 August), Daniele Silvestri (2), Ccp-Fedeli alla linea (3), Arianna Porcelli Safonov (5) . On August 22nd the grand finale of the event curated by Le Ragazze Terribili: Tony Hadley, the charismatic voice of Spandau Ballet, will be there.
