A festival that, moving between jazz, ethnic music and shows, continues to enliven an island within an island in the summer: and so, FestArtes - Sulky Jazz Festival is preparing for two new events in Sant'Antioco , once again in the setting of Cala Sapone . Today, the concert of the French duo DuOud is expected, starting at 9:30 pm , followed by next Friday the 31st for the concert of the Franco-Colombian singer-songwriter Ëda Diaz , performing live from the same time .

Formed by French musicians Mehdi Haddab and Smadj , the DuOud project features both members playing the oud , a historic string instrument from the Arab and Middle Eastern tradition. On it, the two have built an innovative musical language inspired by both North African roots and contemporary music , incorporating breakbeat, jazz grooves, and guitar distortions. After performing on stages in Europe, Japan, Australia, and the Arab world, DuOud arrives this evening in the main town of the Sulcis archipelago.

Instead, she is joined by an ensemble featuring singer and double bass player Ëda Diaz , in an original project that mixes the rhythms of Latin American music with pop, electronic and industrial influences : on stage with her are musicians Camille Lévy (backing vocals, keyboards and pads), Anthony Winzenrieth (guitar and keyboards) and Baptiste de Chabaneix (percussion and pads), in a program that also includes songs from Diaz's debut "Suave Bruta" , released in 2024 and inspired by great authors of South American poetry such as Neruda and Garcia Márquez.

Organised and promoted by the Municipality as part of the Multidisciplinary Festival of Sardinia , the programme is curated by the association of Local Authorities for Cultural and Entertainment Activities , with the contribution of the Ministry of Culture and the Region and the support of the Fondazione di Sardegna .
