The masterpieces of Romanticism are the epilogue to the review “I concerti di primavera” 2025, curated by the Ellipsis cultural musical association. The appointment is for Tuesday at 8:30 pm, in the Sassu room of the Canepa Conservatory of Sassari, with the duo formed by Claudio Mondini on the violin and Luigi Stillo on the piano.
The program will open with Robert Schumann's Sonata for Violin and Piano No. 3 in A minor, composed in 1853, also known because the third and fourth movements come from the FAE Sonata , composed with Brahms and Dietrich. It will then be performed with César Franck's Sonata for Violin and Piano in A major. Composed in 1886, it was first performed to great acclaim at the Museum of Modern Art in Brussels in December of that year, with spectators enthralled and immersed in complete darkness and the musicians playing from memory, due to the ban on lighting fires so as not to damage the paintings in the gallery.
The event is organized in collaboration with the “Canepa” Conservatory, sponsored and with the contribution of the Ministry of Culture, the Sardinia Region, the Sardinia Foundation, the Municipality of Sassari and ERSU, the regional body for the right to study. Non-subscribers can also purchase tickets at the concert entrance.
