From the stage to direct contact with the public, young spectators in a frenzy for the musical event of Jazz Alguer Mediterrani , the competition for young bands that ended yesterday at Lo Quarter in Alghero. Angelo Pauz , rap singer who from Porto Torres spread his music among the young people of the island and beyond, accompanied by the voice of Irene Sotgiu , won the fifth edition of the contest open to musical groups from the countries bordering the Mediterranean.

The other two finalist bands will also be on stage with their fifteen-minute showcase: Gionta and Trigariu. The winners will receive a scholarship to be used exclusively for training and artistic growth, specialization courses, production and publication of a record.

“I'm still incredulous and excited, but life is beautiful, because when you least expect it, it reserves you great surprises”, are the words of the artist Pauz. The event is part of the review that takes place from 30 April to 25 November in Alghero. Among the prominent names in the Jazz Alguer program, artists who have performed and others who are still preparing to go on stage: Paolo Fresu with Rita Marcotulli and Jaques Morelenbaum, the violinist Anais Drago, the Neri Per Caso, Simona Bencini, the American singer Denia Ridley and the British Jill Saward and Sarah Jane Morris with Nick The Nightfly.
