After the state funeral in Milan , commemoration in the Senate for Silvio Berlusconi , who died last June 12 at the age of 86.

A special session was held in the hall of Palazzo Madama, introduced by the president Ignazio Larussa, with interventions by all colleagues, both from the majority and from the opposition.

But there is no lack of controversy. The 5 Star Movement has in fact decided to participate in the commemoration in silence, without making any speeches, arousing criticism from the center-right.

«Out of respect for the family and the political community that has lost its leader, the MPs of the 5 Star Movement will sit on the benches of the opposition. At the same time, however, without any form of hypocrisy, and in line with our values and our history, none of the parliamentarians will take the floor. In recent days we have already expressed our opinion regarding Berlusconi's political history and we have not changed our minds on this ", reads a note released by the Senators of the M5S Group.
