The secret of longevity is kept in Sardinia. In fact, the island is part of those areas of the world, defined as "Blue Zones" where people live longer than the average and which also include:
- Japan, with the Okinawa Islands
- Greece
- Costa Rica
- An area of California
Every day in the newspapers we read of Sardinians who reach 100, 102, 104, 108 years in very good health and for this very reason, like Isola, we have been the center of attention of the international press. Newspapers such as the New York Times, National Geographic, CNN, Chinese newspapers have talked about Sardinia.
Actors of the caliber of Zac Efron and Stanley Tucci have also taken an interest in the "Land of Centenarians" to make documentaries. National Geographic even wanted to learn how to make minestrone in Perdasdefogu as longevity would also depend on nutrition.
A healthy lifestyle in a sparsely populated place with less pollution than other areas is certainly one of the ingredients of a long life. Among the good practices to live longer you should eat little, little meat and lots of vegetables, you should do physical activity, cultivate a vegetable garden, entertain many social relationships and live at the center of the family.
What do you put into practice of these good habits?
This is the column of Unione Sarda e Sardegna1 edited by Paola Pilia, who gives you an appointment every week with current topics and curiosities strictly in the Sardinian language, because Sardinian is a normal language.
