After the volume dedicated to flamingos, the second installment of the series “The protagonists of nature”, written and edited by Ilisso , is coming to newsstands with L'Unione Sarda .
This week's protagonist is an animal that embodies the wild and authentic spirit of Sardinia: the Giara horse .

Small but tenacious, it is among the last wild horses in Europe and lives free on the basaltic plateau of Giara, between Oristano and Southern Sardinia . Despite its small size, it is not a pony, but a true equine breed, considered among the oldest on the island.

Its history is intertwined with that of man: once used for threshing in the farmyards, it risked extinction with the advent of agricultural mechanization. Today, it represents a precious symbol of biodiversity, to be preserved and told.

The series “I personaggi della natura” is a weekly journey to discover the species that make Sardinia unique. Each volume can be purchased at a cost of 12.50 euros + the price of the newspaper.
Here is the list of upcoming volumes:

  • Flamingo from April 12th
  • Cavallino della Giara from April 19th
  • Barn Owl from April 26th
  • Griffin from May 3rd
  • Mouflon from May 10th
  • Eagle from May 17th

An opportunity not to be missed to collect a work that unites culture, nature and Sardinian identity. Every Saturday on newsstands with L'Unione Sarda .
