After the success of the first edition, the "Fotografando Cagliari" competition restarts , a competition between photographers open to students, enthusiasts and professionals without age or origin limits, with the sole restriction of participation through works created with a camera.
The photographic contest dedicated to the city of Cagliari and sponsored by the Department of Culture of the Municipality of Cagliari, comes to life and will be presented this afternoon at 5 pm during a cultural evening of the Spazio Aperto Association, the association organizing the competitive event directed by Maurizio Porcelli, which will be held in the auditorium of the Church of the SS. Crucifix in Zagreb Street in Genneruxi with free entry and open to all.
Given the interest of the many enthusiasts, the organization has decided to set the deadline of November 30th for the presentation of the works to be sent exclusively to the email spazioapertosardegna@gmail.com completely free of charge.
“Fotografando Cagliari” reaches its second edition after the debut in 2022 with an exceptional winner, Giuseppe Ungari, photographer of L'Unione Sarda and also an actor fresh from his success at the 80th Venice Film Festival as the protagonist of the film Tilipirche by Francesco Piras.
The photos must focus on the representation of the city in any form while shots of festivals, concerts, processions and events in general will not be allowed.
In one shot, participants will have to present Cagliari in authorial photos that highlight its merits, and perhaps also its defects, trying to capture peculiarities, hidden corners, original stories and its most evocative places.
No specific theme on the city or any type of prerequisite is required to participate, all that is needed is passion and a critical and inventive streak depending on the style you want to give to the work to be presented in the competition.
The winners will receive cash prizes, while special awards will be awarded for mentions.
The jury includes leading personalities including the historic photographer of the Region Domenico Manca, owner of an immense collection of photographs of extraordinary historical and cultural interest, and the professional photographer Franco Felce.
