As many as 150 works on display to tell the story of the greatest Sardinian painter of the 20th century and absolutely one of the greatest Italian painters of the last century. A large part of the Giuseppe Biasi collection of the Sardinia Region can be admired from tomorrow evening in the Sassari Art Gallery.
The art museum in Piazza Santa Caterina, directed by Maria Paola Dettori, has practically doubled the rooms to exhibit the works of the Sassari artist which the Sardinia Region (thanks to the then councilors Salaris and Biancareddu) decided to "fish out" from the basements and make usable while awaiting the construction of the Museum dedicated to Giuseppe Biasi, which will be housed in the former Carmelo.
In the meantime, the Superintendency has taken steps to restore some works that were in terrible condition. Among the surprises, behind a painting depicting some women from Osilo, a Woman from Busachi dating back to a few years before 1929.
The rooms have been divided into thematic order. For example, there is one dedicated to portraits, one to graphic works and one to African subjects: women, dancers, Egyptian cities and bazaars.
