The Sardinian economy is recovering: in the third quarter of 2022 the active companies in Sardinia increased compared to the same period of the previous year.

In 2021 they were 145,192 businesses in operation, while in 2020, the year of Covid, the bar had stopped at 143,822. In 2019, and even earlier in 2018, there were around 143,000 active companies in absolute terms .
The dynamics of the artisan enterprises was positive, with slight growth (+0.3%) and in contrast with the Italian figure (-1.1%).

In detail, looking at the incidence of the value of Sardinia's "non-oil" exports on the total of "non-oil" economic activities - therefore net of oil, gas, coke and products deriving from oil refining - in the period from January in September 2022 the first two sectors that have the greatest relative weight, i.e. chemical products (21% of the "non-oil" total) and food (17% of the "non-oil" total), grew respectively by 13% and 8.2% compared to the same period of 2021.
