With the easing of the pandemic squeeze from Covid-19, the celebrations of Holy Week are finally back in attendance.

Therefore, the traditional rites and processions of the Addolorata of Holy Thursday and of the Mysteries, of Good Friday and Holy Saturday, in preparation for Easter have already been confirmed.

For the key events there is also a strong tourist attraction, and in the city between April 16 and 19 five cruise ships capable of carrying over 8 thousand visitors will disembark.

Among the different and evocative events, set up simultaneously in different churches, streets and symbolic places of the city, from the Archconfraternity of Solitude, from the Archconfraternity of the Santissimo Crocifisso, from the Archconfraternity of Gonfalone, from the Congregation Mariana Degli Artieri Di San Michele and from the Committee of Santa Maria Chiara, also the rite of "Su Scravamentu" ("Unraveling") of Christ from the Cross and his deposition scheduled for the afternoon of Holy Saturday in the Cathedral of Santa Maria.

Among the most anticipated moments are the three processions of "S'incontru" on Easter morning, in Corso Vittorio Emanuele, in Piazza San Giacomo and in Via Roma. There will also be the second exit for the simulacrum of Sant'Efisio del Lonis, listed in mourning, on Easter Monday, an appointment that was interrupted due to the pandemic.

The associations are working to obtain from the region the recognition by the Region of the rites of the Seventh Saint of Cagliari among the regional events, such as Iglesias and Castelsardo.
