An additional €1.5 million has been added to the Regional Litigation Fund , and the opposition is questioning this increase, which it calls "anomalous." Is it linked to the legal backlog and the increase in appeals following the Sardinian healthcare system's declaration of unconstitutionality?
The centre-right wants to see things clearly and has presented an urgent question, first signed by Fausto Piga , deputy group leader of the FdI.
In question is Regional Law 8 of 2025, which reorganizes the Sardinian healthcare system. This law first led to the ASL (Local Health Authority) being placed under special administration, then to the appointment of new general directors, resulting in the early dismissal of those in office. This law was later declared unconstitutional by the Constitutional Court with ruling 198 of 2025.
The opposition believes this matter risks damaging the regional coffers. Therefore, the center-right is demanding to know the exact number of appeals filed by the dismissed general, administrative, and health directors, quantify the Region's financial exposure, and determine whether the increase in the Litigation Fund recorded in the current financial year is attributable, and to what extent, to the proceedings arising from the application of Law 8 of 2025.
"We've found that the Litigation Fund has increased by €1.5 million," Piga emphasized. "It's clearly a warning for the public finances; we need to look at this clearly," he insisted. "Our thinking remains the same: this job-making was carried out recklessly, maliciously, and unlawfully, so whoever made the mistake must pay ," he argued. " Todde," he concluded, "said he should show his face, even his wallet . If we're telling lies, he should forgo the tax shield and face responsibility." Alice Aironi, UDC, speaks of costs that Todde "knew full well he was generating with his reckless actions, but he preferred to continue on his own path, defying every ruling."
Michele Ciusa, a Five Star Movement councillor, responded bluntly: "This is a specious and exploitative initiative by the opposition. It's obvious that the Region has many disputes in many areas, and it's only natural that it protects itself with all the necessary measures."
