In the nearly ten billion euro Budget there is also a doubling of attendance fees for Sardinian municipal councilors .
This is foreseen by an amendment by the majority which will also be shared by the oppositions and which should obtain the green light in the evening at the end of the first day of examination of the text in the Budget Committee.
For each session of the municipal councils and commissions, the councilors will receive up to 38 euros in municipalities with up to five thousand inhabitants, 54 euros in those between five thousand and ten thousand, 64 in those between ten thousand and thirty thousand, 100 euros in centers between thirty thousand and one hundred thousand, 150 euros in those with over one hundred thousand inhabitants.
The Region had already taken steps to adjust the allowances of mayors and local administrators in the 2022 stability law , but this provision had not taken municipal councilors into consideration. The 2023 Budget Law will fill this regulatory gap.
In the meantime, the discussion of the articles continues in the third commission. We aim to conclude on Friday. However, the text in the Chamber should arrive no earlier than 24 January .
