The Region of Sardinia also adheres to the fifteenth European Day against Trafficking in Human Beings (of which 26 thousand people fell victims in the EU in 2020 alone) and does so with a series of initiatives, scheduled for Monday 18 October 2021, as part of the Plan Regional for Immigration 2020, in collaboration with the Congregation of the Daughters of Charity of San Vincenzo de 'Paoli, owner of the Elen Joy project and the ACLI, the Region has organized a series of awareness-raising initiatives in the area.

"Among other activities to combat the phenomenon of exploitation in the workplace aimed at social inclusion, the Region took the field with DI.AGR.AMMI (approved with DGR 9/6 of 05.03.2020) an integrated project of active inclusion aimed at victims of violence, trafficking and serious exploitation, unaccompanied foreign minors close to majority, beneficiaries of international, subsidiary and humanitarian protection and people at risk of discrimination ".

The Region of Sardinia also intends to promote the establishment of a permanent Observatory on the exploitation of human beings with consultative, propositional, study and research functions, through which to promote greater collaboration between all the actors operating in the territory, in support of the culture of legality.

On Monday 18, in collaboration with the Municipal Administrations, awareness-raising activities will be promoted in the cities of Cagliari, Quartu, Iglesias, Oristano, Nuoro and Sassari. ACLI civil service volunteers will distribute information material on the subject of human trafficking (brochures, gadgets, contact numbers for access to services). The information material will be available at the IMPACT regional project counters and in the new ELEN JOY project offices (Sassari, Largo Seminario 6 and Nuoro, via La Marmora 138). From 9 to 11.30, a webinar on the phenomenon of trafficking and unpublished videos produced by the national anti-trafficking toll-free number and Department for Equal Opportunities will be broadcast online in the high-level institutions of Sardinia. In October, the national communication campaign of the "European Day Against Trafficking" sponsored by the Presidency of the Council of Ministers will continue. The Sardinia Region and the Municipalities of Cagliari, Sassari, Quartu S. Elena, Iglesias, Oristano and Nuoro will exhibit banners in the institutional offices or in symbolic places.
