The project for the candidacy of the decorated Domus de Janas of Sardinia as a UNESCO World Heritage Site also stops in Sennori.

In fact, the town hall of the Romangia center hosted a meeting where the Identity and Memory Study Center, promoter of the candidacy, and the representatives of the island Municipalities in whose territories the 35 archaeological sites included in the initiative arise, took stock of the project and outlined the next steps to be taken for the drafting of the management plan and the completion of the dossier that Italy will deliver to the Unesco International Commission at the beginning of 2024.

Sennori was chosen as the venue for the meeting because with its Domus de Janas dell'Orto del Beneficio Parochial it is part of the Municipalities that carry forward the Unesco candidacy.

The meeting, conducted by the president of CeSim, Giuseppa Tanda, concerned the methods of preparing the forms that each Municipality will send to the Region of Sardinia to ask for the funding necessary to satisfy the strict requirements that the Unesco Commission has given for the approval of the candidacy .

«It is an honor for Sennori to have welcomed the representatives of the Municipalities involved in the project for the candidacy of the Domus de Janas as a UNESCO World Heritage Site - declared the councilor Elena Cornalis -. As deputy mayor and councilor for culture, together with the councilor responsible for archaeology, Michele Soggia, and with the entire municipal administration, we will do our utmost to carry out the necessary works within the times and in the manner dictated by the Commissions".
