The new film by Australian director Justin Kurzel arouses a certain curiosity, which we remember above all for the film adaptation released in 2015 of the famous Shakespearean tragedy "Macbeth", also earning him the nomination for the Palme d'Or at the Cannes Film Festival. But his new effort reveals a completely different register: " The Order " will be a detective film led by Jude Law (the Dumbledore in the "Fantastic Beasts" saga) and Nicholas Hoult (Beast in the X-Men saga). ).

As reported on the Deadline website, the film will make use of the most recognizable stylistic features of the genre without however falling into an all too stereotyped formula and prey to clichés, rather focusing on a plot linked to the world of crime that is, so to speak, wide-ranging.

The film is inspired by the book "The Silent Brotherhood" by Kevin Flynn and Gary Gerhardt, the screenplay is instead the work of Zach Baylin .

In 1983 frequent and violent bank robberies, counterfeiting operations and armored car thefts put all communities in the Pacific Northwest in serious alarm. Following the investigations conducted by the police, an FBI agent (Jude Law), hunting for clues in the city of Coeur d'Alene, becomes convinced that the crimes are not attributable to isolated criminals animated solely by the interest for money, but are instead the work of a group of terrorist experts headed by a determined and charismatic leader (Nicholas Hoult), intent on carrying out a real open confrontation against the federal government of the United States.

Production on the film is scheduled for May 2023 in Alberta, Canada by AGC, Bryan Haas and Jude Law.

The executive producers are instead Justin Kurzel, Ben Jackson and Stephen Fuss of “Riff Raff Entertainment”, while of “AGC Studios” are Baylin, Kate Susman, Jeremy Saulnier and Zach Garrett.
