From European Romanticism to the rhythms and colors of South American music. On Wednesday, July 15th at 8:00 PM, the courtyard of Palazzo Ducale in Sassari will host a recital by young pianist Lorenzo Niolu, a new event in the Conservatory's Wednesdays series, organized by "Canepa" with the support of the Municipality of Sassari.

The program will open with Ludwig van Beethoven's Sonata, Op. 31 No. 2, The Tempest , one of the German composer's most intense and evocative piano works. This will be followed by Johannes Brahms's Variations on a Theme of Robert Schumann, Op. 9, an early work in which the composer pays homage to Schumann through a complex succession of musical transformations. The second part of the concert will be dedicated to Alberto Ginastera, one of the greatest Argentine composers of the twentieth century. The Suite de danzas criollas, Op. 15, and a selection from the Doce Preludios Americanos, Op. 12, will be performed.

Alghero - Thursday, July 16th, the Contemporary Nocturnes. The program will feature music by Decruck, Moszkowski, and Matteo Agus; in the second half of the evening, pianist Carlo Giganti from the "Canepa" will perform works by Bach, Chopin, Kapustin, and Matias Capettini.

Both concerts are free to attend until seats are filled.
