The Petrified forest of Anglona comes back to life thanks to a loan of 300 thousand euros allocated by the Region of Sardinia. The leader of the project is the municipality of Chiaramonti which, through the Forestas regional agency, Sassari's territorial service, will start work on the hiking and horse trail network involving six municipalities - Chiaramonti, Martis, Laerru, Perfugas, Sedini and Bulzi - where the horizontal and vertical signage, rest areas and the cleaning of the areas.

The project, defined and approved following the services conference, includes a network of 16 paths that will be included in the official cadastre of the Sardinia hiking network, for a total of almost 80 kilometers through the various sites of the Petrified forest, of which the main one is that of the Carrucana forest in Martis.

But the sites of 4 waterfalls and 2 caves will also be valorised, one in the Sic - Su Coloru area in the municipality of Bulzi, and numerous churches as well as the museums of Sedini and Perfugas. Six of the foreseen routes fall within the municipality of Chiaramonti, for a total of approximately 37 kilometers of routes which cross the Chirralza and Triulintas waterfalls.

For the Forestas construction management, there are still other critical issues to be resolved on privately owned crossings on paths 4 and 5, problems which in any case can be tackled according to the provisions of the Regional Regulations for Pathways, in close collaboration with the Municipalities.
