The Su Bundu mask from Orani was a resounding success at the traditional Venice Carnival. Yesterday, the group performed, bringing tradition to St. Mark's Square, before thousands of spectators. They were joined by launeddas players—Fabio Vargiolu spoke about the history of the Mediterranean's oldest musical instrument—who are students of Luigi Lai.

Orani's mayor, Marco Ziranu, was presented with the official pennant of the City of Venice. "Once again, Sardinia has achieved a great success," said Raffaele Sestu, president of the regional committee of Pro Loco Unpli Sardegna. "The public's welcome makes all the sacrifices worthwhile." Gianni Demontis, president of the Orani Pro Loco, and Francesco Noli, president of the Su Bundu group, added: "It was an incredible feeling to represent our group and Sardinia."
