Digital and robotic opera. After the success at the Teatro Santa Cecilia in Palermo, the opera “Furioso” will be performed in China and Vietnam. This is a production that involved the universities of Palermo and Calabria and seven conservatories, including those of Sassari and Cagliari.
The work, which is part of the Pnrr Music4D project, aims to extend an international network dedicated to new technologies applied to music and performing arts, promoting technological updates (GARR), artificial intelligence, robotics, themes and work methodologies. The work is performed with a virtual and interactive stage apparatus developed by Adriana Hernández Flores and there are also two robots on stage.
The “Luigi Canepa” Conservatory of Sassari curated one of the ten scenes, the fourth, entitled “The Enchanted Palace”. The artistic project of the scene is by Gian Carlo Grandi with the orchestral and electronic compositional contributions of Walter Cianciusi, Gian Carlo Grandi, Salvatore Passantino, Riccardo Sarti, Gabriele Verdinelli, multimedia by Roberto Musanti, direction by Gabriele Verdinelli. The orchestral parts are assigned to teachers and students of the eight conservatories. For the Conservatory of Sassari, Riccardo Cherchi (viola), Andrea Deriu (trombone), Alessia Pittau (violins I) participated. On stage, musically and conceptually integrated into the work, the Cuncordu de Orosei group was appreciated.
The teachers of the “Palestrina” Conservatory of Cagliari, Daniele Ledda, Sandro Mungianu and Michele Sanna, wrote the second scene of the opera.
