The tour of the 60 years of history of Nomadi does not stop and the famous band continues, on stage and on stages throughout Italy, the celebrations for an extraordinary career arriving this evening, Saturday 8 June, at 10 pm in Piazza Roma in Carbonia .
As part of the 18th edition of the Craft, Agri-Food and Tourism Fair " Il Sulcis Iglesiente Espone ", organized by the Sulcitano Exhibition Consortium with the patronage of the municipality of Carbonia, the Emilian group will be the protagonist of the key event of the great event which enhances the productive activities of the area and promotes the vast cultural heritage of Sulcis, starting from the Coal Museum and the archaeological site of Monte Sirai .
It was the early 60s when, between Modena and Reggio Emilia, Beppe Carletti and Augusto Daolio decided to form their own band. The debut took place in 1963 and the name chosen was born a bit by chance but perhaps also by destiny. The numbers of their music speak for themselves: 80 concerts a year throughout the Peninsula with an annual average of 1,000,000 spectators including children, parents and grandparents, thus creating what Beppe Carletti defines as the "nomadic people". It is the longest-running band in Italy and before them, in the world, only the Rolling Stones .
In 1966 he began his collaboration with a then unknown Francesco Guccini. From this partnership, songs were born that would mark a fundamental stage in the Italian musical panorama: "We will not be there" and "Dio è morti" will become real banners for millions of young people. And in 1972 came " Io Vagabondo ", still today the band's symbolic song and anthem for several generations, written for them by Alberto Salerno and Damiano Dattoli. From that moment on, a climb began that still continues with renewed enthusiasm from the fans.
The television participations cannot be counted, from " Cantagiro ", in the 60s, to "Disco per l'estate" up to the Sanremo participations: the first in the 70s and then in 2006 when they were winners in the Groups category and second in the ranking general. Again in the 2010 edition, paired with Irene Fornaciari, the Nomadi finished as finalists and sixth in the general classification. To date, the Emilian group has 53 works, including studio and live albums and collections, for a total of over 16 million copies sold. Alongside this there is also the humanitarian commitment which has seen the Nomads promoting various solidarity initiatives and numerous benefit trips. One of the most significant was that of 2012: the Concert for Emilia in favor of the areas affected by the earthquake, with the participation of Emilian artists and broadcast live on Rai 1, raised over a million euros used for the restoration, which took place in September of the same year, just 3 months after the earthquake, of a wing of the Carpi and Mirandola hospitals.
The latest album is the one released last year on the occasion of the 60th anniversary, "Cartoline da qui". Today together with Beppe Carletti (keyboards, accordion and backing vocals), there are Cico Falzone (guitars and backing vocals), Domenico Inguaggiato (drums ), Massimo Vecchi (bass and vocals), Sergio Reggioli (violin and vocals) and Yuri Cilloni (vocals). Entrance is free.
