The moratorium against wind energy first of all. Even of the Provinces. This is what the group leaders decided and this is what will happen in the Chamber on Wednesday.
After skirmishes and mediations, bill 15 on "Urgent measures for the protection of the landscape, landscape and environmental assets" will be able to aspire to the status of law. The opposition announces amendments.
The majority speaker will be the five-star Roberto Li Gioi : «The law has a transitory and safeguard nature», argues Li Gioi, president of the Environment and Urban Planning commission. «We are taking 18 months in which, apart from a few exceptions, the construction of all new electricity production and storage plants from renewable sources is blocked». In the meantime what will happen? «First of all, the Region will identify the suitable areas. Then we will update, adapt and complete the PPR, extending it to internal areas. In the opinion sent to us the day before yesterday, Cal, the Committee of local autonomies, also asks us to do so. Saying that the territories of the internal areas are the most fragile and, therefore, "exposed to ravenous expropriation by economic and financial operators devoid of any scruple and transparency".
For Li Gioi there is another objective that the Executive can set itself in the eighteen months of time out: «We must update Pears, the environmental energy plan of the Sardinian region».
The Democratic Party, through group leader Roberto Deriu , warns: «The bill was agreed by majority with the line of approving it. We must not rush, there must be a discussion aimed at having the best possible law."
The leader of the Reformers Umberto Ticca is harsh: «Four months before the elections we are at the starting point and the Todde Council has done nothing to block speculation», he observes. "We need the courage to oppose and the strength to propose an alternative that can allow an energy transition that respects our earth."
