Six months after his death, Prince Karim Aga Khan returns to the spotlight with "Costa Smeralda." Available in bookstores and newsstands for a week, the book will be presented today at 7:30 pm on the small beach below Porto Cervo's main square by author Fausto Farinelli, guest of the Porto Cervo Libri festival.
The subtitle— "The dream of Prince Aga Khan through the stories of those who lived it and guard its legacy" —is a discreet preview of the Sassari-born storyteller's debut work, which recounts the origins of the Costa Smeralda and the vision of Prince Karim Aga Khan IV through the testimonies of those who saw this dream come true and grow, and those who are its guardians today.
In the year of the passing of the Aga Khan, who passed away on February 4th at the age of 88, Farinelli retraces the history and key moments in the birth and growth of the Costa Smeralda, starting from an unpublished interview with the Prince, dated 1987. Key figures include the architects who interpreted his thinking, such as Giancarlo Busiri Vici and Enzo Satta, but also the CEO of Smeralda Holding Mario Ferraro and the mayor of Arzachena Roberto Ragnedda, current players on the scene with their commitment to preserving and improving a place much loved by the international jet set since its founding in 1962, and Flavio Briatore, who for decades animated the summer nights of Porto Cervo and the surrounding area with his clubs.
The list, however, is truly long. And tonight it will be revealed in full .
