A duel lasting 30 years between Sassari and Pesaro which on Sunday at 6pm opens the twelfth season in the top flight for the biancoblù club at PalaSerradimigni. The first race dates back to the 1991/92 Italian Cup which still put the A1 and A2 teams in opposition: Dinamo was able to win at home 80-76 with a super performance of the American couple Paul Thompson-Dalla Comegys against the team that won then the Italian Cup, where Darren Daye (Austin's father), Magnifico, Gracis, Zampolini, Workman and Ario Costa, now president of the Marche club, played.

Since then Sassari has remained unconquered in the league, where it has 13 consecutive victories. He also won last year, but it was the return match: 99-74 with six players in double figures. Four are still there: Bendzius, Burnell, Gentile and Treier. The opening of the 2020/21 championship was held instead on the Marche parquet, with a victory of Devecchi and his companions for 95-85 with 41 points from the wings Bendzius and Burnell. Together with Devecchi who begins the sixteenth season in Sassari.

Pesaro, however, inflicted a wound on Banco di Sardegna: the defeat in the quarters of the 2021 Italian Cup: 115-110 after an extra time despite the triple double missed by Marco Spissu.

Meanwhile Pesaro has already strengthened with the US play Tyler Cole Larson, formerly of Varese and Bamberg, who will be usable only from next week.
