The fashion competition, which launches the top models and models of the future, will also feature a fashion show dedicated to the Island and featuring the creations of six Sardinian artists : Irene Piccinnu with her painted dresses featuring women's faces, Barbara Dalu , a designer who has renewed the tradition of macramé, Marinella Porru , costume and jewelry designer, Rosalba Piras with her hand-woven hats and bags, Bettina Tola who will wear the Sardinian shawl with silk fringes and hand embroidery and Gianfranca Dettori who will debut his new goldsmith creations born from the union of the art of filindeu, coral and filigree.

Coordinating the project is Luisa Cardinale, creator and choreographer of the fashion show , who has been collaborating with the event The Look of The Year for years. She will dress 22 finalist models, coming from every corner of the world.

"The inspiration was the great Sardinian artist Maria Lai with her thread that intertwines life - explains Cardinale - The artist, through the theme of the thread, has underlined the importance of the link between Sardinian tradition and contemporary art. A thread that will tie Sardinia to this international event so important for fashion".

Founded in 1983 in the United States, The Look of the Year has been a launching pad for fashion icons such as Cindy Crawford, Gisele Bündchen, Linda Evangelista, Stephanie Seymour, Ines Sastre and many others. The most recent winners today walk the runways of Milan, Paris and New York Fashion Weeks and are featured on the covers of fashion magazines.

Every year, over 50 countries participate in the competition, involving approximately 350,000 young people aged 14 and over . There are 70 finalists who reach the final stage of the competition, over 80% of whom manage to transform this experience into a career in the sector in the following two years. This year, the godmother of the event is the model Victoria Silvstedt.
