The former regional health councilor , Mario Nieddu , has resigned from his party , the League. He did so with a letter addressed to the deputy prime minister and secretary of the Northern League, Matteo Salvini .

Nieddu's step backwards had been in the air for some time, ever since governor Christian Solinas replaced him in the reshuffle with Carlo Doria, of the Psd'Az. A choice , that of handing over the council position, which did not go down well with Nieddu who in the letter complains to Salvini of having «been the first to betray the promise of a new way of doing politics , which was instead contracted out in a completely prone and uncritical to President Solinas and the Psd'Az".

Nieddu retraces the phases of the Northern League movement in recent years: «In Sardinia, choices were made that proved disastrous , with the removal of many militants , without your contact in Sardinia, Eugenio Zoffili, being able to stop the bleeding ».

Until "the self-destructive transfer of sovereignty , with your approval", writes the former head of Healthcare of the Carroccio regarding the change of owner of Healthcare .

For Nieddu, who last week participated in the launch of Graziano Milia's new project, «Solinas' management of the Region revealed all its problematic nature without any possibility on the part of the League, even though it was the majority shareholder of the coalition , to counteract its drift and make its proposals count".

Nieddu's farewell to the League comes after that of the only Sardinian mayor of the Northern League, Tittino Sebastiano Cau , first citizen of Illorai , because it was "left only to those members of our political group".
