Bringing non-experts, especially young people, closer to the island's rich archaeological history over the millennia: this is the goal of " Paths of Time. Archaeology for All ," a series of conferences promoted by the Kalaritano Archaeological Group that began in October. Tomorrow morning , a new event is scheduled at 10 a.m. at the Mem in Cagliari , with researcher and archaeologist Caterina Lilliu , who will discuss the late Nuragic civilization and its connections with the Mediterranean.
Using rigorous yet accessible language, "Paths of Time" has already covered previous phases of Sardinian history in previous editions, with the inaugural lecture by Professor Giuseppa Tanda on Sardinian prehistory, followed by meetings with archaeologists Emerenziana Usai , on the Eneolithic, and Maria Rosaria Manunza , on the flourishing of Nuragic society in the Bronze Age. Tomorrow, Lilliu will address the next chapter, recounting the Nuragic golden age between the Bronze Age tradition and the new challenges that would bring Sardinia into contact with the rising powers on the Mediterranean shores .
The conference, which will be recorded for those unable to attend, features a daughter of an artist : not only was her father the illustrious archaeologist Giovanni Lilliu, but the researcher also graduated and specialized in classical archaeology, later conducting research in the Marmillese area and working for the Region on cultural heritage, particularly museums. Currently a member of the board of directors of the Barumini Foundation, she is the contact person for the Casa Zapata Museum Complex .
"Paths of Time" will continue in January, with events scheduled for Friday the 9th with Andreina Siddu on the Phoenician presence and Carthaginian domination, Friday the 23rd with Simonetta Angiolillo on the Roman occupation, and finally on February 20th , with a closing session entrusted to Marco Muresu on the Late Antiquity and Byzantine eras of Sardinia. Each event is free and open to the public, benefiting from the contribution of the Office of the President of the Regional Council .
