Two major events at the Teatro Civico in Sassari for the Autumn Edition of the Contrasti International Festival. On Friday at 7:30 pm, American trumpeter and singer Benny Benack III will perform. On Tuesday, November 11, also at 7:30 pm, Lombard pianist Rossano Sportiello will perform.
The arrival of Benny Benack III is truly an event: several times nominated for Emmy Awards, He was named a “ Rising Star ” by Downbeat Magazine critics, a finalist at the Thelonious Monk Competition (2014) for trumpet, and has performed at the most important festivals and clubs worldwide, bringing his overwhelming energy and musical elegance everywhere. His album Third Time's the Charm reached second place in the JazzWeek charts , consecrating him among the absolute protagonists of the international jazz scene.
For the Sassari event he will be accompanied by an exceptional trio composed of Simone Faedda on guitar, Marco Occhioni on double bass, and Bruno Brozzu on drums.
