The Sanremo 2027 team is taking shape: The Jackal will host Primafestival, the daily segment airing immediately after Tg1, preceding the festival evenings, scheduled for February 16th to 20th. The official announcement comes with a video broadcast on the 8 p.m. Tg1 news. In a video call with Ciro Priello, Aurora Leone, Fabio Balsamo, and Gianluca 'Fru' Colucci, artistic director and host Stefano De Martino jokes about their shared origins: "I wanted to tell you that I chose you because you're Neapolitan: I really like this thing, that we're all Neapolitans at the Ariston. I chose you for this, not for your talent."

Linked by a long-standing partnership with De Martino, who hosted them several times on "Stasera tutto è possibile," The Jackal have already appeared at the festival individually: Ciro Priello hosted the PrimaFestival in 2022 with Roberta Capua and Paola Di Benedetto, Fru made a surprise appearance on the Ariston stage in 2025 during The Kolors' performance, and Aurora Leone co-hosted the Dopofestival in the latest edition with Nicola Savino. And above all, their ironic counterpoint to the festival, with live commentary from the sofa on songs, guests, and looks, has become a social media cult.

The Jackal launched their YouTube channel twenty years ago, in 2006, but they've been making videos together since middle school: the boom came with Lost in Google, the network's first interactive web series. In 2014, they made their Gomorrah video parodies, and in 2017, they made their film debut with Addio fottuti musi verdi, directed by Francesco Ebbasta, produced by Cattleya and the Jackal, and distributed by 01 Distribution. The first 'Operazione Sanremo' came in 2018: the collective involved the Festival's hosts, singers, and guests (without ever appearing on stage), launching the catchphrase "gnigni." In December of the same year, their new adventure was Operazione X Factor: The Jackal's unmistakable irony applied to the Sky Uno talent show, with the catchphrase this time being "Mimicchio." The result: 20 million views and 68 million users reached across all channels.

In April 2020, during the Covid pandemic, they launched "Tanto non uscivo lo stesso" on RaiPlay, focusing on household dynamics and obsessions during the difficult months of lockdown . This was followed by "Lol: Chi ride è fuori" on Prime Video and the series "Generazione 56k" on Netflix. In 2021, they starred in the podcast, Spotify's first original production for Italy, "The Jackal: Tutto Sanremo, ma dura meno," focusing on the most frenetic and talked-about days of the year. They also tackled football, with "Euroi a casa The Jackal," a humorous commentary on matches, always broadcast live. In 2023, they created the series Pesci piccoli - Un'agenzia. Lots of ideas. Low budget for Prime Video. Last March, they all hosted a TV show together for the first time, Stasera a letto tardi, airing in prime time on Rai2.
