The announcement by Alessandro Carta, president of Confcommercio Arzachena–Sant'Antonio di Gallura e Telti, of the International Vermentino Competition, which will be held for the first time in Gallura and Arzachena on May 22nd and 23rd, was met with great acclaim at Vinitaly, which runs from today until Wednesday, April 15th. Attending Verona, President Carta was, among others, Stefania Fresu, Councilor for Tourism, Commerce, and Productive Activities, who, along with the city administration, immediately grasped "the strategic importance of the project."
"We want this event to be just the beginning of a shared journey," commented President Carta; "Our vision is for a structured synergy that will see us working together on new tourism and regional food and wine promotion projects. We intend to work in full harmony with key organizations like the Sardinia Bio District and the Vermentino Protection Consortium, to create an integrated offering that enhances the authentic identity of our land." IPSAR Costa Smeralda will provide operational support for the initiative. The goal is clear: to transform the quality of production into a driver of permanent economic and tourism development. "Bringing the competition to Arzachena means placing our businesses and our landscape at the center of the international stage." The initiative is part of the "Arzachena al Centro" project, a program dedicated to the enhancement and cultural and economic revitalization of the town's historic center.
Organized by APS Promo Eventi, the program includes the Competition, with technical committees meeting at the IPSAR Costa Smeralda Hotel Institute, and the Vermentino Grand Gala on May 23rd in Piazza Risorgimento: an event open to the public where you can taste competing wines from all over the world. A sensory journey through aromas, flavors, and wine culture.
