Sardinia sings in Florinas. Tomorrow, Saturday, August 2nd, the thirtieth edition of the historic Festival of Traditional Folk Choirs, promoted by the Coro di Florinas Cultural Association, will take place. Founded in 1993, it has brought to the stage the most representative voices of regional, national, and international choral music: from Trentino to Sicily, from Veneto to Spain and beyond. The 2025 edition will be marked by a celebration of Sardinian song, with a series of distinguished guests who will showcase the richness and variety of this heritage.

In addition to the Florinas Choir, the Tenores di Orosei "Antoni Milia" will also perform, along with the Nulvi Choirs, the Bisos e Chertos di Ittiri, and the Intrempas di Orosei. Finally, the event will feature, in the square in front of the elementary schools on Via Roma, the Bertas, guests of honor and a historic Sassari group celebrating their 60th anniversary . The Florinas Choir, which performed the famous song "Badde Lontana" for the first time exactly thirty years ago, will present the Bertas with a Lifetime Achievement Award, also honoring them with a performance of two of the group's other timeless hits: "Como Cheria" and "Pensende a Tie."

"Reaching thirty years of the Festival is a milestone that requires passion, sacrifice, and respect for the values passed down to us by our fathers and grandfathers," explains Giovanni Antonio Manconi, president of the Florinas Choir. "Our goal has always been to pass on our cultural roots to new generations, with the desire to renew ourselves and continue to grow." Choir director Giacomo Pintori emphasizes the importance of the tribute to the Bertas: " Paying homage to our region with three Bertas songs was a challenge we faced with determination . For us, it represents a great responsibility, but also a source of profound pride."
