In front of certain landscapes you remain speechless. In front of certain shows, too. From 3 to 9 August, the magic is renewed: the Festival dei Tacchi returns to make Ogliastra vibrate with its XXVI edition.

In the heart of Ogliastra, between the limestone walls of Jerzu and the vertical suggestions of Ulassai, over 30 artists will alternate in more than 21 shows, crossing nine scenic spaces and bringing the beauty of the scene where the silence is deepest.

Organizing, as always, the Cagliari company Cada Die Teatro, which turns the territory into a natural stage and emotions into true poetics.

"Awe, or rather, the loss of wonder: this year's theme," explains artistic director Giancarlo Biffi. "A feeling that manifests itself less and less, as if crushed by frenzy. And yet, being amazed is a primary, almost infantile theatrical experience. This year, the artists will try to give it back to us."

The program does not disappoint expectations: among the most anticipated guests , Sabina Guzzanti with "Liberidì Liberidà", a biting satire on freedom and Roberto Mercadini, who in "Felicità for dummies" offers a philosophical hymn to authentic joy.

Concita De Gregorio with “Un'ultima cosa”, celebrates the ardour of seven revolutionary women – including the visionary Maria Lai – in a story that is civil poetry. Jacopo Veneziani, a well-known face in the field of artistic dissemination, presents “Perfette sconosciute”, a tribute to great forgotten artists, to be rediscovered with new eyes.

There is also Ascanio Celestini, one of the most appreciated authors of the Italian civil theater, who in Poveri Cristi gives voice to the margins of humanity. And then Max Paiella, who reinterprets Italian fairy tales in an ironic and melancholic way, and Andrea Santonastaso, who revives the creative lightning of Andrea Pazienza in Mi chiamo Andrea, faccio fumetto. Massimiliano Loizzi, with Il Matto, signs a ferocious attack on the Italian political tragicomedy, oscillating between laughter and indignation.

There is also space for emerging and original theatrical realities , such as the Fettarappa–Guerrieri duo, Patrizia Camatel and the projects of Silvia Elena Montagnini, Giorgia Calandrini and Dafne Tinti, just to name a few. The unmissable proposals of the Cada Die Teatro, including the preview of Istorias by Pierpaolo Piludu, Gufo Rosmarino nel bosco delle ciliegie gnam gnam by Giancarlo Biffi, and Emma with Mauro Mou and Lara Farci.

An out of the ordinary experience will be Hamlet Private (from 4 to 8 August), a show for one spectator at a time: an interior, divinatory and theatrical journey through Hamlet and his (and our) indecisions, signed by Michele Lino Bruno Losi and Giulietta De Bernardi.

The Festival is not only theatre, but also training, literature and meeting : three theatre workshops open to the public, two appointments with local authors, and numerous collateral activities involving children, teenagers and families.

"In Jerzu, theater is a common good, a collective rite. A beauty to be experienced, not consumed," says Carlo Lai, mayor of the municipality.

"Ulassai welcomes the Festival as an opportunity to regenerate itself culturally and humanly," adds Floriana Piras, vice president of the Fondazione Stazione dell'Arte. "And this year we are particularly happy for the youth workshops and the growing local literary production."
