The guest of the column, conducted by the journalist Fabrizio Meloni, Head of Communication and External Relations of the Aou, will be Dr. Paola Neroni, cardiologist pediatrician of Duilio Casula.
About one in a hundred babies is born with a heart defect, which can lead to abnormal formation of the heart's walls, heart valves, or blood vessels entering or leaving the heart. If there is no prenatal diagnosis, most congenital heart abnormalities can be suspected if there is a heart murmur, very different from that commonly detected by the pediatrician. This can occur frequently in the first few days or weeks of life. In the suspicion or after diagnosis of congenital heart disease, it is advisable to contact a pediatric cardiologist or a specialized center where the young patient can be monitored throughout the diagnostic and pharmacological and surgical treatment.
The talk "15 minutes with ..." is edited by Aou Cagliari News, the newspaper of the university hospital. Agile and simple format, it includes 15 minutes of question and answer with the specialists and the possibility for the public to ask questions live.
