A gesture of fair play embellishes youth football in Sulcis.

A goal born from a ball not returned to the opponents and a coach who asks his boys to "give back" the net to his opponents are the salient moments of what happened a few days ago during Santadi-Astra Carbonia, the provincial championship in the junior category . The visitors were leading 4-3 and the match was in the balance: following a game clash, a Santadi player was left on the ground in the penalty area and an Astra defender put the ball out. The hosts resumed play, perhaps due to a misunderstanding, they did not return the ball to their opponents as is usually the case, and a few seconds later they immediately scored the goal to make it 4-4.

Santadi rejoiced (perhaps because whoever set up the action hadn't noticed that the ball had been specifically deposited outside by the opponents) but not his coach Luigi Caddeo who didn't think about it for a moment: he ordered his boys to to restart the game, to remain still, to allow the guests to score, that is, to get back into the lead. The game then finished 6-4 for Astra. "He wasn't obliged to do it - comments the Astra coach Federico Rubiu - and it is precisely for this reason that the gesture takes on extraordinary characteristics: a positive example".

The Figc of Sulcis Iglesiente became aware of the fair play episode and did not fail to express its applause.
