The overseas promotion program developed with funding from the Region to enhance the cultural heritage of Sardinia, also from a scientific point of view, starts with an international exhibition on Mont'e Prama.

"The prestigious site of Columbia University will host from tomorrow one of our most important sites, that of Mont'e Prama, heritage not only of Sardinia and the Sardinians but of all humanity" explains the councilor for programming, Giuseppe Fasolino. " The opportunity and scientific competence of the Italian Academy now allows us to show these treasures to the whole world. The commitment of the Sardinia Region is to continue, at the highest scientific level, to enhance our heritage and collaboration with Italian Academy, which will continue for other activities and with the hope that so much beauty can be admired by everyone not only remotely but also directly on our splendid island ".

Therefore, the collaboration between the Region of Sardinia, through the Regional Programming Center, and the Italian Academy for Advanced Studies in America, Columbia University New York, comes to life. From tomorrow, April 15, the digital exhibition called "The giant heroes of Mont'e Prama - Recovering the ancient Sardinian heritage - Excavation and restoration of Sardinian statues of 3,000 years ago ". The online review explores the dozens of colossal pre-Roman figures discovered in 1974 in western Sardinia at the site of Mont'e Prama. The exhibition will be followed by a collection of writings, to be published in the coming months, on one of the most fascinating cases of Mediterranean archeology.
