From the famous Toccata and Fugue in D minor by Bach to the Vocalise by Rachmaninov. An enticing program that the German organist and conductor Johannes Skudlik will propose on Friday at 8:30 pm in the Basilica del Sacro Cuore in Sassari. The event is part of the program of the Mediterranean festival.
Skudlik, who has also performed in America, Russia, Japan and China, will also perform other well-known pieces such as the Aria from Bach's Suite for Orchestra No. 3 , known as the “Air on the G-string,” as well as the Toccata from Théodore Dubois's Douze pièces pour grand orgue and In paradisum from 12 pièces nouvelles , Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart's Andante KV616, the Toccata from Léon Boëllmann's Suite gothique and the Toccata from Charles-Marie Widor's Symphony No. 5 .
The second part of the evening will instead host the Polifonica Santa Cecilia of Sassari directed by Alessio Manca. The choir will perform some sacred pieces by Thomas Tallis, Tomás Luis de Victoria, Anton Bruckner, Pietro Allori.
