The Sardinia Grand Slam, which has been running for three days at Poetto in Cagliari, has a new leader: the French Axel Mazella, reigning world champion and given as a great favorite on the eve of the event, valid as the third stage of the international circuit of the IKA KiteFoil World Series.
The regattas. The sea breeze yesterday made us wait on the race course, reaching an intensity between 13 and 17 knots in the afternoon. Mazella won three of the five races run in front of the beach. The other two successes bear the signature of compatriot Theo De Ramecourt and Russian Denis Taradin, but they are not enough to undermine the supremacy of the transalpine, now in the lead with 14 points. Followed by Taradin (21), in turn closely followed by the British Connor Bainbridge (23). First among the Italians remains Mario Calbucci, eighth in the ranking, while the Cagliari Daniele Pischedda is 36th.
Female ranking. Nothing changes in the women's ranking, where the French Poema Newland is confirmed in the lead, ahead of compatriots Lauriane Nolot and Jessie Kampman.
A Luna Rossa Prada Pirelli Team delegation is scheduled to visit today.
