The former striker of Cagliari, Naples, Rome and Juventus Daniel Fonseca sentenced to 6 months in prison for tax evasion.
The sentence was issued by the Court of Como for facts dating back to 2010-2011. It was in Como that the Uruguayan player, now 53, ended his career as a professional footballer in 2003, starting as a prosecutor.
According to what was reported by the newspaper Il Giorno, Fonseca would not have paid an amount equal to around 600 thousand euros into the tax authorities.
His lawyer, Paolo Santarelli, however, defined the accusation as "unfounded".
