An innovation destined to change the way Italian consumers choose fish: the first 100% Made in Italy fishing supply chain is here, which will guarantee the national origin of the catch, from the boat to the table.

The initiative will be presented tomorrow, Wednesday 21 May at 11 am, in the suggestive setting of the Tonnara di Carloforte, in Isola Piana.

Promoted by Coldiretti together with representatives of the Italian fishing world, the new supply chain aims to certify the entire production chain of fish caught or farmed in Italian waters. A project designed to enhance the provenance, quality and respect for the marine environment, at a time when consumers are increasingly attentive to the traceability and sustainability of products.

The heart of the initiative will be a distinctive mark that will be placed on tricolor fish products, recognizable by consumers and a guarantee of transparency. A way to reward the work of Italian fishermen and offer a real response to the growing demand for safe, sustainable and local foods.

The inauguration will be attended by : Ettore Prandini, president of Coldiretti, Francesco Lollobrigida, Minister of Agriculture and Food Sovereignty, Stefano Albertazzi, director of Filiera Agricola Italiana and Daniela Borriello, head of Coldiretti Pesca. The agreement aims to strengthen the country's food sovereignty, reduce dependence on imports and support coastal communities.
